New Video Shows What The iPhone 11 Could Look Like

A new video reveals the possible design of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max, and iPhone 11R.  ( Marques Brownlee | YouTube )

Apple is set to roll out three iPhone 11 models in 2019, and while there’s no official unveiling just yet, a new video is giving an early close look at what to expect from the upcoming smartphones.

Take note that nothing’s set in stone just yet, though, not until the Cupertino brand makes things official.

iPhone 11 Design

The video (as posted below) comes courtesy of popular YouTuber Marques Brownlee, who managed to get a hold of dummy units of the iPhone 11, iPhone 11R, and iPhone 11 Max, all of which are still unconfirmed names.

To be clear, these aren’t functional handsets at all. They’re the dummies that iPhone case makers use to ensure their accessories can fit the next smartphones.

The most notable change is the camera bump on the back. For the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max, it holds three sensors and a flash. On the other hand, the iPhone 11R only has two sensors and a flash.

Also, there doesn’t seem to be much of a difference between the new models and the iPhone X. Case in point, they don’t have a USB-C port. Instead, they’re retaining the Lightning port.

As Brownlee sums it up, it’s a “pretty underwhelming update.”

The rumor mill has been churning out a ton of details about the iPhone 11, some of which don’t align with what’s seen in the video Brownlee uploaded.

For starters, the new iPhone models are said to sport a new rounded mute switch design similar to the ones in older-generation iPads. The dummies in the clip apparently have the old mute switch.

In addition, leaks have pointed to the square camera bump matching the color of the iPhone, but in the video, it’s all black. Brownlee shows a comparison for this at the 2:26 mark.

Apple is expected to announce the new iPhone 11 lineup sometime in September and release them between September and October. In other words, it won’t be long until they go official.
